Empowering Community Gardens: Building Your Advocacy Toolbox - Workshop Series


Join us for an inspiring and educational 2-day advocacy training designed to empower community gardeners and youth interns in creating positive change for our green spaces. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to advocate effectively for your community garden.

What to Expect:

Day 1: Building Your Advocacy Foundation

  • Gain a solid understanding of advocacy principles and strategies.

  • Explore the basics of policy advocacy and its relevance to community gardens.

  • Learn how to engage your community and mobilize support for your garden's advocacy efforts.

  • Understand the legal landscape of lobbying and advocacy in your garden's activities.

Day 2: Storytelling

  • Develop effective communication skills to convey your garden's message.

  • Enhance your public speaking skills for impactful testimony and speeches.

  • Master the art of data-driven advocacy, from data collection to utilization.

  • Create a concrete advocacy plan to advance your community garden's goals.
