For the past 50 years, Green Guerillas has provided critical resources, advocacy and leadership training that flows through community gardens to make New York City a greener, stronger, and more equitable city.

Open Garden Day
We are excited to announce our partnership with Aberdeen Community Garden for an Open Garden Day on July 27th from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Join us for a beautiful summer afternoon filled with fun, interactive activities for youth and young adults. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Council of Gardeners
As we await the FY25 budget release, Green Guerillas will hold a Council of Gardeners meeting on July 1st via Zoom from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. During this meeting, we will discuss our findings related to community gardeners and urban agriculture in the NYC FY25 Executive Budget. Our focus will be on the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation/Greenthumb and will not cover funding for other agencies.

Annual Meeting -Weaving Connection: How Community Gardens Strengthen NYC's Social Fabric
Join us for the 2024 Annual Meeting, where we'll explore the theme "Weaving Connection: How Community Gardens Strengthen NYC's Social Fabric." This inspiring event will take place at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, bringing together community gardeners, organizations, and stakeholders for an evening of collaboration and insight sharing.
Expect engaging discussions, including a "Fireside Chat" with Council Member Shekar Krishnan and Iyeshima Harris Ouedraogo from Green Guerillas, panel sessions with community garden leaders, policy updates, and pathways for involvement in supporting community gardens. Enjoy delicious food and beverages while connecting with fellow supporters of open spaces and advocates of food and environmental justice.

Manhattan - Spring Plant Distribution

The Green Guerillas team is happy to invite you to our Spring veggie distribution happening Saturday , May 11th from 11 - 3PM in Manhattan. Please see below for more details - RSVP is required per garden.
Where: La Plaza Cultural | E 9th St & Avenue C, New York, NY 10003
Keep in mind an RSVP is necessary to participate in this distribution! We highly recommend checking in with garden members in your garden and selecting one or two representatives that will be picking up seedlings for sharing with the entire garden before RSVP-ing. Please only submit one RSVP per garden.

We are pleased to announce that this resource will become available to all NYC-based community gardeners in the Spring. Summer Youth Tillers Internship
Our Summer Youth Tillers program aims to encourage intergenerational learning spaces through youth providing hands-on support to community gardeners during the busiest time of the growing season. This is a NYC based internship. We encourage youth leaders ages 14 - 17 years old to apply.
