Sarah McCollum Williams
Executive Director
Sarah McCollum Williams is dedicated to fostering sustainable communities through strategic vision and collaborative action. As Executive Director of Green Guerillas, she champions urban greening initiatives, building bridges between community gardens, educational institutions, and civic leaders throughout New York City.
With a career spanning food and environmental justice advocacy, arts administration, and fundraising, Sarah brings an interdisciplinary perspective to organizational leadership. Her work at the Kaish Family Art Project and National Academy of Design demonstrates her ability to build systems that connect creative communities with broader audiences.
A proven fundraiser, Sarah has secured significant support for community-centered work. She frequently shares her expertise as a speaker and panelist on community engagement, advocacy, and fundraising strategies. Her collaborative projects with major institutions like MoMA PS1 and her service on the Mayor's Food Policy Transition Team reflect her commitment to cross-sector partnerships for greater impact.
Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Tennessee, where she also served as the Assistant Director of the University Writing Center, serving thousands of student writers each year. She is a founding member of the Humphrey Calder Community Garden in Richmond, Virginia and holder of a Certificate in Permaculture Design from Oregon State University.
