Avika Talmor
Community Organizer
Avika (she/her) is a Brooklyn born facilitator, organizer, somatic coach, and multi-hyphenate artist. Committed to environmental, climate, and food justice, she works across both US coasts and internationally. From facilitating youth workshops at the YWCA on bystander intervention and women empowerment to organizing against gentrification and for tenant rights in Prospect and Crown Heights, she is dedicated to deepening relationships with community members.
Avika holds certifications in Nature Healing practices, Eco-therapies from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Mind/Body coaching certificate from the Embody Lab. She received her B.A. in Global Humanities and Critical Thought from Mills College. Her work in somatic and ecotherapy education as well as multicultural studies greatly informs her organizing efforts. Avika’s experiences growing up in experimental organizing and creative community spaces also serves as a foundation from which she facilitates and leads from. She aims to practice a vision for the future that combines eco-somatics with urban gardening, and youth development.s.
