Open Volunteer Day -June 20

Join Green Guerillas for our Open Volunteer Day, a hands-on community workday where volunteers come together to support local gardens and the people who care for them.

This event is a chance to get your hands in the soil, connect with others, and help strengthen a shared green space through collective care. Green Guerillas describes these volunteer workdays as support for garden projects like clean-ups, bed builds, infrastructure improvements, and other hands-on needs identified by gardeners.

“Weaving Workshop”

Join Green Guerillas for “Weaving Workshop,” part of our 2026 “Nature’s Palette” Open Garden Day series.

This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore weaving and creative expression using natural materials while gathering in community within a vibrant neighborhood garden space. Together, we will celebrate the connection between art, nature, and the beauty of NYC’s community gardens.

Open Garden Day - July 18

Join Green Guerillas for “Fashion and Textiles Workshop,” part of our 2026 “Nature’s Palette” Open Garden Day series.

This creative workshop invites participants to explore fashion, textiles, and sustainable art practices inspired by nature and community spaces. Through hands-on activities and collaborative learning, attendees will engage with the ways creativity and environmental stewardship can come together within community gardens.

“Special Workshop”

Join Green Guerillas for “Special Workshop,” part of our 2026 “Green Guerillas Youth Voices” Open Garden Day series.

Led by one of our Green Guerillas youth interns, this interactive workshop invites participants to gather in community, explore creative ideas, and celebrate youth leadership within community gardens. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities while learning from the perspectives and experiences of young community leaders.

Open Garden Day - August 5

“Upcycle Your Life!”

Join Green Guerillas for “Upcycle Your Life!,” part of our 2026 “Green Guerillas Youth Voices” Open Garden Day series.

Led by one of our Green Guerillas youth interns, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore creativity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through upcycling and creative reuse activities. Together, attendees will learn new ways to reimagine everyday materials while connecting with the community in a shared garden space.

Open Garden Day - August 15

Join Green Guerillas for “Carried North: Craft Legacies of the Great Migration,” part of our 2026 “Nature’s Palette” Open Garden Day series..

This workshop invites participants to explore the history, creativity, and cultural traditions connected to craft practices carried through the Great Migration. Through hands-on activities and shared learning, attendees will reflect on storytelling, heritage, and the ways art and community continue to shape collective memory within shared greenspaces.

Open Garden Day - Sept 16

Join Green Guerillas for “Hang out, listen to music, draw, and dance in Green Guerillas home garden,” a joyful Open Garden Day focused on creativity, relaxation, and community connection.

This gathering invites neighbors, families, and community members to spend time together in a welcoming garden space while enjoying music, drawing activities, movement, and leisurely outdoor fun. Come celebrate community, creativity, and the joy of being together in shared greenspaces.
